I BELIEVE THAT MEDITATION KNITS ALL THE PIECES OF YOUR LIFE TOGETHER IN THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY!

I BELIEVE THAT MEDITATION KNITS ALL THE PIECES OF YOUR LIFE TOGETHER IN THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY!

Clearly today’s world is too noisy. Clearly there is too much stress today.

Do you really need a ‘reason’ to meditate? Seriously, daily life is noisy and stress-filled. For most people the noise and uncertainties contribute to a sense of agitation and unease. We live with nonstop stimulation and never-ending demands on our time and attention. The excesses on our minds- with the constancy of connectivity-have led to many forms of imbalance. With so much being packed in to the typical work-day at an increasingly accelerated pace, people are experiencing mental exhaustion and burn out at unprecedented rates.

The urge to get away from the stress and pressures is real. The mind and spirit both want relief. And for many, the use of alcohol, drugs, shopping, phone addiction, loosing oneself in the computer, future-forecasting, or numbing-out in front of the television are oftentimes attempts to put some distance between ones self and all the stress. The stress is real and it is unhealthy.

However, addictions, escapism, avoidance, feelings of overwhelm are unconscious indications that a solution must be found. Stress is a problem and if you are not feeling as well as you would like to feel, then it is time to let go of your assumptions about meditation. Or maybe you notice that you just don’t feel the energies to face all that you must manage in your life. Meditation will provide you with a baseline from which to rebalance yourself. And if you’re dealing with the negative impact of stress -the medical benefits of meditation are an important reason for you to start meditating. The most important thing for you to know is that what ever you avoid dealing with, will one day deal with you. For information about the benefits of meditation.

Meditation has become culturally acceptable in the west as means for addressing the stress and imbalance in your life. Meditation can become a foundation for you to build a life that includes health, balance, wellbeing, and happiness. One’s health is the truest wealth there is in life and investing in yourself is always a good decision.

“Beth, I’ve tried meditation before and it doesn’t work for me.”

Is this you? You have tried an app or watched an online video? Maybe something on Facebook or Instagram caught your attention and you liked it but felt no pull to do it again?

When we work together, I will help you understand meditation from a multidisciplinary approach. REAL meditation is not simply about reaching for it on a crisis basis or as a “pull in case of emergency” reaction. For many people their evaluation of meditation remains one that is akin to looking at an exotic animal in a cage. There is curiosity, sometimes entrancement for the exotic nature of the animal. But in the absence of really knowing the background and orientation of the animal, your opinion or interpretation of it remains filtered through your current orientation. I believe it is vitally important that you have the education to understand the many facets of meditation. As well, you will learn about the neurological aspects of meditation, the physical aspects, the emotional aspects, and more.

You will be guided through the “stages” of a new meditation program. I am frequently asked, “Is this normal?” when one of my clients or students begins a meditation program. The question, “Is this normal?” reflects the human experience of a new meditation program. What ever your starting point, you are a full human person with a unique range of experiences, memories, and interpretations of your experience of life. We all have our unique personality which, with time and regular meditation is more easily recognizable. During meditation one might feel something, experience something, fall asleep, or even feel like nothing is happening. It is vitally important that you have the support of an experienced guide as you begin your meditation practice. And that is where I can help you.

Where the GOLD IS

Getting to the good stuff in meditation…

Once the initial newness of your meditation practice shifts into a new place, it is vital to engage yourself so that you develop a consistent meditation practice. That is where the GOLD IS. Consistency is where you will find the “health is wealth” truism for your life. When you are able to go beyond your personality and human protection mechanisms (we all have them, that is why they are human) it is then that you will find a steady source of calm and stability. The mental turbulence and fluctuations of the mind will be altered as your attention and intention are strengthened. It all comes with regularity on the cushion. As well, after you develop a practice that is regularized you will experience subtle shifts in your orientation of life.

It is when you have developed a consistent practice that you will find inner resources that were previously unavailable to you because your attention was always on the “mental function”. You will notice a lessening of the relentless thought-chatter that typical accompanies stress. Once you reach this stage, you will have more control over your attention and intention off the cushion.

The fuller life-giving benefits of meditation are truly available to every one.

I want to see you able to sustain a meditation practice for a period of time, beyond your crisis. I want to support you in developing the “health is wealth” experience of life as soon as you start your meditation practice. Once you experience for your self that meditation is a foundation for your health and wellbeing, you will find elevated access to the needs of your body, your mind, your emotions, your heart, and your spirit. In time, you will know what balance is for you and how that will radiate out into every area of your life. This is where the GOLD IS. When you are attuned to your sense of balance, instead of all the external noise and stimuli, then you are able to orient your life in a way that will support your happiness, your health, and your wellbeing.

What is meditation?

Meditation is a highly personalized practice for enhancing your health and well-being.

One hears about meditation everywhere these days. Meditation is now in the classroom, on the basketball court, in yoga studios, in the boardroom, in the clinical setting, in the office, at the park, in the car, and in your home. I work with clients from every background imaginable. And the story for each person is different. Some come to me because they feel exhausted. Others because of a personal crisis. Others want to feel better, have more energy, and less stress. There are those who want to grow and need/seek a mentor or teacher. Some want to ‘try’ meditation and then find that the benefits are worth continuing the practice. My clients represent all facets of life: retired persons, students, police officers, college professors, doctors, mothers who are taking time off from their career, political officials, small business owners, artists, nurses, CEO’s, hospital administrators, grade school teachers, and many other backgrounds. Meditation is no longer considered for “those people”. Meditation is for YOU. Meditation is not just for some one who is ‘religious or spiritual’. People are finding that meditation is a practice to serve their needs for feeling better, for lowering stress, and for affirming their experience of life. Meditation is a very affirming practice. ~The way I support you in your meditation journey is personalized. You have your story, your journey, and your future.

Meditation is here to stay. It has reached acceptance in western culture and is gaining a well-deserved reputation for helping with the stress of daily life.

Meditation is no longer

viewed as something exotic or dangerous. And it is no longer categorized as a strictly religious practice, although its origins can be traced to the eastern cultures of Asia and China. Meditation has come into its own in the west as both science and medicine have come to validate its unique and important effects on the mind, the body, and the spirit of a person.

Meditation is a discipline. Just like going to the gym, the more consistent you are in your practice, the higher the benefits.
