Do You Live With Chronic Pain?

Pain in the body is a REAL CONDITION.  And the challenges for people who suffer from daily pain can lead to depression, loss of earning power, dysfunctional relationships, sleeplessness, and many other issues. The experience of chronic pain is all-encompassing. For most people they rely on rudimentary skills that fall within the range of coping or managing. Living with chronic pain is associated with elevated levels of anger, sadness, fear, anxiety, and stress. It is also difficult on your loved one and for most people, a life with chronic pain can be taxing on valued relationships.

Oftentimes the answers fall into two areas: pharmacological (pills) help or surgical help. When those answers have been exhausted or are not suitable for your pain condition, what then? I have adapted a therapeutic model that has evidenced positive and sustainable outcomes for those who practice my integrative 360°system. No quick fixes, instead an integrative approach to trigger the adaptive intelligence already existing within the body to bring more balance to your life.

The isolation and loneliness that persons who suffer from pain compounds the sense of powerlessness. Living with pain every day is one of the loneliest and most difficult of human experiences. Unfortunately, it is not widely known that there are more answers than just pills or surgery.

Western medicine is excellent at intervention, but not so good at prevention. What you need to know is that your body is interconnected with every part of your life experience. Surgery is something to be grateful for when something needs to be repaired or removed. Still, when there is an alteration within any part of the body, it affects EVERY OTHER part of your body. The truth is, harm is done and healing is hampered when the body is compartmentalized and isolated.

Beth helps you understand your pain. As she works with you, you will develop a new approach which will elevate the quality of your life. To learn more about your pain here.

Healing and Wholeness

Healing and Wholeness come from the same root word. The root word for 'health' and 'healing' is the same. They are both derived from the Old English word 'hale,' meaning “wholeness, being whole, sound or well.” Both Healing and Wholeness account for the body, the mind, the heart, the emotions, the energetic body, and the Soul or Spirit of a person. The human being is a unique and highly complex combination of all these factors (as well as several additional factors) which can be brought into balance with the right support.

Pain is a fundamental IMBALANCE. Chronic pain precipitates further imbalances throughout the body. Most western medical providers are taught to localize the cause of the pain and treat it as a problem to be solved. When the problem is not solvable, then the remedy of prescriptive relief (drugs) and/or surgical interventions are considered. Surely, when these resources are helpful, western medicine methods can be short of miraculous if they relieve a painful condition. But more frequently than not, these methods fall short of a relief. And then the person/patient is left with few resources other than, “You just have to live with it” along with the pharmacological help and a sense of loneliness. For those who live with chronic pain, the condition can be one of the loneliest human experiences. But this is not necessary. There are a full array of approaches to help those who live with chronic pain. And the first thing to be addressed is altering the brain/body relationship with the pain.

My approach incorporates a new interpretation of HEALING. The approach you will learn from me includes meditation, pranayama techniques, accessing the intelligence of the body, neurological advances, an understanding of how the body reacts to pain, helping you have better command of your psychological response to your chronic pain condition, and a variety of modalities to support you in living more SUCCESSFULLY with your pain.

My programs implement an entirely different understanding of healing. Healing is not the same as a cure. I promise no miracles. I have no magic. Instead, if your body has undergone changes as a result of an injury, illness, or disease, we must approach the healing intelligence of your body to enhance the potential of healing. But it would be unethical to promise a cure. That is not how Health & Well-being With Beth will work with you. We don’t over-promise. Instead we help you with a full complement of both western and eastern practices so that your body can improve its adaptive response to arrive at higher-functioning self-regulatory patterns.

My programs and treatments are not about either conventional medicine or hokey superstitions. We know that INTEGRATED medicine is the best approach for every patient. In every case, it is about finding the right balance for each patient. I will listen to your story, how you were injured or how the disease began. I will listen to the path that your life took as a result of the changes in your body, your health, and in your life. I will listen as you share the ups and downs that you experienced as you went from doctor to doctor, getting tests, waiting for X-rays or MRI's, evaluating surgical options, and being confronted with a report that probably made you feel worse.

Your story is an important part of my evaluation as I learn about, what is often a very complicated chronic pain condition. Together we will find what works for you. As you integrate the modalities that work best for you, I will support you, encourage you, and be with you as you find resources that you never knew were available for your chronic pain condition.
